Please consider the dyno pull sequence at EMC. Three consecutive warm up pulls, up to a 25 minute wait, then three pulls for either qualifying or money. Probably humid, ambient temperature probably in the 60's.

Three questions

1) Heat soak issue. If the engine is pulling strong and not falling off between pulls, might it be a strategy to immediately ask for the second set of pulls? It might be that there is a mandatory engine shut down and wait, but as far as I know everyone waited the full 25 minutes.

2) Should the water pump be left running during the lull? We left ours run.

3) Should the intake manifold be colored and textured to absorb or radiate heat? Ours was left as cast.
