E7TE Heads What to Do

I just got around to taking some valves out of my heads and what I discovered was not good. I only took 2 int and 2 exh valves off and one of the exhaust valve guides was in pretty much shape and would not “pop” when I held my finger over the hole and pulled the valve out. It also had a decent amount of play side to side. So I’ve once again come to you all for advice.

My engine is currently at the machine shop getting bored .60 over and .30 under on the crank. It will have stock pistons and a MTF3 cam with VS280 valve springs. Since it’s more then likely going to need new valves and valve seats would this be the time to move up on valve sizes. If so what are the max sizes I can go on valves with stock pistons.

Or before I call my machinist and bring these to him do you guys think it would be possible for the valves to be ground down to work. And then I assume all it would need would be valve guides.

For the E7TE heads use a standard size SS exhaust valve and the standard size 2.084" stainless intake and size intake bowl accordingly.

Those heads have cast iron guide inserts installed. They wear easily and we never used them excepting to fix a severely damaged guide.
We then install K-line bronze guide liners which wear very well even in severe applications.

Back cut valves and blend sharp edges for some additional grunt.

Do you have the part numbers for valves, valve seats and the valve guides. Also should I replace rockers and pushrods while I’m at it. They seem to be in good condition with no scoring and all shiny metal on wear parts. If so what do you recommend for rocker arms and I’ll go with stock melting pushrods.

E7TE heads have hard exhaust seats OEM.

A set of stainless valves is about $200. We have them on the shelf.

Your machinist should have K-line guide liners. The existing iron guide is reamed and the liners installed.
They are much harder than the iron and wear well.

If you decide to stick with the original factory valve sizes, then we have a brand new set of 8 intake and 8 exhaust valves for the E7TE heads. $110 shipped anywhere in the United States. Call HFD directly if interested.

I may be interested in this, just dropped off the heads at the machine shop so I’ll just be waiting on a call back to see what it needs.
