Ok, I just bought a new Edelbrock Victor water pump and I am very impressed. The impeller is cast iron, and machined with nice centrifugal vanes. The pump casting itself is very nice, and the casting in the pump looks like it is designed for maximum flow.

The Weiand 8211 I am replacing looks more like a factory pump, only cast out of aluminum vs. iron. Not impressive at all.

I wonder if the Edelbrock pump will be noticeably better at cooling my 545 at idle? Sure looks like it will....

The Edelbrock water pump is also rebuildable, which is a plus.
