We did some dyno testing of an 87 octane 545 EFI engine with budget ported F3 heads for a local client.
Power was as expected for 8.9 to 1 static c/r.
Out put was 625 / 465+ hp. 480 HP with the spacer. Throttle response was still sharp.
The premium fuel version is 500 hp and 650 torque.
We purchased 3 industrial EFI intakes and spacers and wanted to test the 4.75" tall adapter from the EFI intake to the propane mixer which is 4150 flange. This particular intake does not have the injector bosses drilled nor the WP bypass.
In the end the spacer is worth about 15 hp but more importantly it stretches out and flattens the HP peak.
The intake as we port it bolted on to the budget ported F3's flows about 260 CFM on a 295 CFM intake port. As we've found the OEM intake is good for about 500 hp.
The spacer is a good addition on the larger engine and with a carb is as tall as the OEM snake and TB.
We are working with Mike the owner of Tweecer to create calibrations for all of our crate engine combinations as well as a stockish engine with Banks kit and adjustable FPR. Adding 5* base timing and bumping fuel pressure works for the 400 / 425 and 450 hp 502" engines but there is definitely something left on the table.
I have an OEM timing table and it is a hot mess compared to a plotted performance curved duraspark load vs. RPM.
We are also quantum fuel system approved to supply their 255 lph and 340 lph drop in pump assemblies.
In the end this spacer would be suited for a combo running a carburetor OR a Holley sniper style system.
