Went to the 1/8 mile track in Hertford, NC last Friday night and after leaning the carb from my previous time there, ran a 6.980 @ 100.718 mph. This was with a 3.73 gear and a 28" tall drag radial and a car that weighs 3250 lbs with me in it... This week I think it's time for a 4.10 gear and a small shot of go-juice just to make things interesting :D

Congratulations!! I told you it wouldn't take long to run in the 6's. 4.10 gear & laughing gas, that will definitely make things interesting. :D

WTG man!

I'm still chasing that eluisve 9 second quarter mile time slip. I hope to get it this weekend but only time will tell. I'll be racing in an 1/8 mile class however I'll take my three time runs in a 1/4 mile class. It's going to be in the 80's so let's hope the pressure is up  I only need 0.008 seconds from the last outing :!:

You said the 2 magic words, True street!!! I'll be running the NMCA true street event at Commerce, GA in September. Hoping for top 3. Good luck and keep us posted on how it goes. You should come down in September and we could double team all the chevy guys and show them who really runs the show on fast street cars. All it's going to take is a 9.50 or better average and top 3 is almost a sure thing.

All I'm running in mine is a stock stroke eagle crank, some h- beams, and some SRP pistons and I'm going to spray it with 250 or 300. If it doesn't live then I guess it's time to step it up with a eliminator block, billet crank, and rods. I've been toying with the idea of doing it next year anyway but going with either 472 or 501ci and duel turbos blowing through a dominator. Also thinking about a procharger F-2. I'm going to get that 8.99 timeslip or blow it up trying.

Sounds good. Looks good too!

I'd say leave the gear alone and just spray it. N2O loves a shorter (numerically) gear.
I agree with Jon,

Leave the 3.73 gear in the car with the 28" tires and then when you spray the car it's going to go a LOT faster and you won't need the lower gear.

Good Luck!
You may also find the converter will need to be tightened up as well. With that much spray it might just blow right through it.

Cool. It's actually a Nitrous converter anyways, so I should be good. Since traction will be limited by my dr's, when and how should I hit the n2o button?
When it's on the rear bumper

Trial an error. Just don't blow the tires off and stay in the nitrous. With the nitrous converter it may need the nitrous right off the line........

A friend has a 9" tire car that runs in a street class. He has his wired so that it's off when the transbrake is engaged but as soon as he let's off the transbrake then it hit's the nitrous. With the transbrake on and pedal to the floor he's at 3000rpms...... Now granted this is a sbf but it runs mid 9's on a 175 shot.
