I was going to try to build an 8.8 to handle the 429 but I also have a couple of 9" rearends I can use. What needs done to the 9" to fit into an 85 Mustang????

I think Currie (and others) make a bolt in 9" housing for the Fox stuff.

Unless your a pretty good fabricator and have access or the ability to make up some jig's its probably cheaper to purchase one of the after market housings. Strange, Moser, Currie and quite a few other smaller mfg's offer them for $350-$600 depending on what parts are used.

I purchased one from Continental Competition in Pa. 724-439-4189 ask for Bud.

This is true. I'm not so I bought a bare housing w/o ends from Moser for $350. It had new tubes and brackets. It was built longer than I needed too. Not a bad deal IMO.......
