I'm working on getting the Network54 based 385 Series Forum archived.

Network54 has multiple safeguards on the system to prevent web crawlers from harvesting the data successfully. I thought I had managed to circumvent them all, but found out today that I was foiled again. They started feeding me corrupt data on page 573 on up.

I need your help.

Please visit this link http://www.racesystems.com/385/385 Network54 Archive/385 Archive/www.racesystems.com/385/385.html

Pick a page below page number 573 at random, and browse all of the "View Entire Thread" links on that page.

If you find any "View Entire Thread" links that return a screen full of garbage, please report the page number to me in a private message on this forum. View as many pages as you have time. The goal here is to prove that the archive is intact from page 1-572. I already know it's corrupt from page 573 on up.

Once I'm sure the archive is good from page 1-572, I'll slow down the crawler and have it retrieve pages 573 on up again and overwrite the corrupt pages. Then we'll do this exercise again and call it done.

I thank you much for your help; there's too many links for one person to check.

Archive repaired and updated.

I updated the archive with new copies of the pages I believed to be corrupt. It's online now at the link above. This is ONLY a temporary home until Chilly finds a permanent host or decides to just serve it up on CD ROM or make it a downloadable archive. I'm leaving that to be his call.

The archive isn't perfect, but it's close. Since the time I started this project, several pages at the end of the Network54 forum were deleted. It appears they are already cleaning house; perhaps they were all along. There's nothing I can do about that stuff; it's long gone. Everything else, as of last night, is in the archive.

I still would like help browsing the archive and reporting any pages that return screens full of garbage. I spent several hours last night spot-checking, and found none. I think at this point it's complete, but you be the judge.
