I am about to purchase rims/tires for my 87 notchback. I am installing a built 460 with a c6 trans. Just wondering what is the max tire size i can install on the back. I currently have 3.73 geared rearend, and will drive on the street. I have had M/T E.T. drags before and loved them, never have ran any dot legal slicks. Tire size, rim size, back spacing ???????? Thanks for the info

Go with a 15 X 10 wheel with 6.5 back space. With the help of a big hammer and die grinder you can run 28 x 10.5 ET drag or 28 x 12.5 ET street, in the M/T tires.

Steve, they are 205/70 15's. The tires are Starfire Flightline's. They were on it when I got the car. 26 inches tall. Mounted on 15*6 welds.

I have the 28x11.5 Mickey Thompson on my 89 Mustang.

I have 8" wide rims with 5.5" backspacing. They fit pretty good had to beat the inner wheel well in a little but other than that they work pretty good.I could send you some pictures if interested.

Later Mark.
