MP Dragway in Clay City Kentucky.

Been really busy here lately and haven't had much time to hang out with you guys on the forum, sorry :p

I readjusted my valves and a few were off (loose) by as much as .006" I also tighented them up .002" tighter than before.

What difference if any should I see? Should it make 10 more horsepower? 20? Or none?

Here's the engine combo incase anyone needs the info.

Thanks

Damon

I am guessing not much of a change with .002 tighter lash setting. But keep us posted on how you do. I would like to hear some good news. I hurt my PG & convertor at Fun Ford @VMP the other weekend. Can we say"EXPENSIVE". I guess I can't complain. They had about 200 passes on both & plus I am asking a Chevy product to live behind the incredible HP & torque of a BBF!! It aint like the Chevy engineers ever planned on that much power!!! Enough of my ranting, good luck Damon & go out there & kick some *** & be safe!!! :D

thanksf or the encouragement fellas
IF the weather cooperates then I'll make a few time runs in the Super Street 1/4 mile class to attempt my 9 however I'll be racing in Modified 1/8 mile class at night when it's cooler.........

Last time at the track I ran another 6.38 in the 1/8 which is again dead on a 10.00 run in the 1/4 so it's pretty darn close!

Sorry to hear about your PG. But 200 passes out of a chebbie part....., you can't complain

:p

Didn't get to go

Unfortunately I didn't get to go racing. I was up in the air to begin with due to the extreme heat but then prior to washing my car I was testing the new mastercylinder in the shop (Trying to lock the front brakes with my line lock) when I discovered a brake fluid leak. One of my brake lines need to be replaced up front so I'm going to replace the brake line hoses while I'm at it. Seems like this was the brake bleed off issue I had the last time I was racing and the car pushed through the lights.

Sorry for no new updates :?

Maybe in a few weeks

I know how you feel. I have a torque converter heading back to Coan Engineering & a PG sitting on the floor that Rick(FordTek1) is going to go through for me. I'll make you a bet Damon that you will be back at the track before me!! Just glad you found the brake line problem in the shop & not at the top end doing 130 mph!! Hell it's to hot anyway. Plus the Chevies need a break.. :D

Don't feel too bad. We fired Dad's T-Bird and ran it for about a minute and a half. Rolled a cam bearing and locked the damn thing up. Once we got it apart we found the suspect journal was too big. Comp said, "Oops, sorry" and that was that. Bastards.

Let's just say that Dad is not happy. At all. On the plus side of the ladder....it only bent one valve. Camshaft and t/c & gears were dead meat. Comp ground another cam but when it got here the numbers were not correct. Par for the course. Got the block back and the front cam bearing isn't installed correctly. Whoopee. Some things you just have to do yourself I suppose.

Well I have new front brake hoses for my car and I made some new brake lines at work, Pretty Black Coated ones to boot :p While I had it apart I had my friend at work powder coat my brake hose brackets. I just can't leave anything alone

Well we planned on going racing Tomorrow but Mother nature is dumping on me AGAIN!

80% chance of rain :?: I believe I'll stay in the shop and work on something instead

Maybe we will have better luck soon, all of us :?:

A handful of yahoos from my town are up there right now. One took his 1,000hp turbo carburated car. I think he wrecks every year! He calls it a street car but there is a big ole intercooler where the passanger seat goes.

I think they do more drinking than racing!

That sounds like a few of my friends
And I just thought it was a Kentucky thing :p

I guess we will be Bench Racing in the shop this weekend. Maybe I can make it home to mow the yard before it rains this afternoon/evening. It's gonna be close.

Maybe we can have Yard Tractor Races, Who wants some :?: :p
HAHAHA, Don't feel bad, I don't have nothing to do this Friday night. My engine has yet to find it's way back in the truck and the crazy Friday night racers are in your neck of the woods! I guess I'm stuck working on my truck some more!

It's too hot! It's just no fun with sweat pouring in your eyes while working on something!

Ohh, I got a Deere that will smoke ya!! Big, green grass eating machine! LOL
