Havent been able to find much info with Stock TFS streets on mild ported ones with like a victor match on a small stroker or even 466. Im hoping that with some good rubbing that they would be as good as some stock Kasses. Anyone running some tfs i would love some input on their performance,,,,,ED

TFS street

Built this in 04 and cant find ALL the info, but I do remember have a couple tid bits.
-Heads bought bare, took to Jim Valako. In Grand Rapids MI, delivered valve sizes with Ferrea's. I believe he said that was all he could find at the time. But being a chev. guy, maybe did not know where to look.
Said he laid back short turn a little, and touched chamber, thats it aside from grinding seats,valves etc.

850mighty demon ended up jetting down 4 front and rear
8580 MSD w/ 36 total

Like I said, lost dyno sheet recently, but peaks were [email protected] and [email protected] with a good tourqe curve. BCSF was still over.50 but ran short of time

my car is 1994 mustang with 466 cu with c-6
1 ran 10.55 at 130 weight me and car 3468 lbs
the head are stock out box
deck at zero
herbert roler cam

Without looking in some of my mags or elswhere in the forum for info from people who did more RnD than myself, yes I think its close on the intake, a good bit more shy on the exaust if I remember right. But the P-51s are reported to have other adv. like more efficient chambers and valve angles, and I believe the ex. port is stock location , where the TFS is raised slightly. .Planning on freshining up SB and upgrading induction along with roller profile and go back to same dyno to see what does or does not happen.

I have the TFS Streets on my pump gas 521. The heads have been port matched to the victor intake and that is all. It runs low 6's in 1/8th in my 89 coupe. Best run so far is 6.02 @ 116mph. This motor made 538 rear wheel horsepower when it was new. Maybe a few more now???? Never any spray just 93 octane. Hope this helps.

tfs heads

I ran at Windy years ago. Had a blue fox mustang street car with a small areo pro stock style scoop. Ran 6.70s with a pump gas 358 w and hydralic stick. Drove it from Evanville a few times. Just Curious what your weight was with the 521? thanks,,ED

I too am curious what the weight is to run 116 mph with 538 rwhp.

That thing must be super light.....about 2700 or less I imagine.

I woulnnt bet its real light. I have heard and read that automatic cars with really loose converters show crazy low RWHP. Some converters dont ever get close to lockup or where they are efficient like a clutch and thows the numbers way off. I would think a BBF would have some problem with tire spin which hurts also. I just dont see a tube chasse car built for pump gas. Hopefully that means streeetable :lol: ED

I woulnnt bet its real light. I have heard and read that automatic cars with really loose converters show crazy low RWHP. Some converters dont ever get close to lockup or where they are efficient like a clutch and thows the numbers way off. I would think a BBF would have some problem with tire spin which hurts also. I just dont see a tube chasse car built for pump gas. Hopefully that means streeetable

I'd say your correct. My converter is locked at 5300rpm. My car weighs 2810 with me in it and it isn't a tube chassis car. I have some issues with traction, depends on the track and the temperature. I ran a 5.98 the other night at 115mph the other night. Car was hooking good with a 60' of 1.32sec. While it is pump gas, it's far from a street car. I just wanted to prove I can go fast on 93 octane. I love saving 2-3 dollars a gallon too.

I can vouch for David's 5.98 at 115 mph. I saw it myself Sat. Night.

Unfortunately, myself and David got paired up in the 2nd round of the Declared Index Race. I knew you were going to pull some serious MPH so I just kept my foot in it and pulled a Hail-Mary pass. Double breakout....but very close.....(.007 slower and you would have got me!)

My converter is around 12% slippage.................chassis dynoed 565. In reality it makes around 670 flywheel hp

Only thing a chassis dyno is good for is tuning, seeing what works and what dont.

If you want results of your dyno tuning, take it to the track :lol:
