Here are some pics of the canted valve billets we just finished up....

470 CFM intake ports! Fits a 4.250 bore
You can see them in person at the PRI show in "Dart Machinery's" Booth
Any questions?

I want to know what intake that is going to be running, is it a custom unit because that adaptor will preclude the use of standard type FE intakes, or does it use a standard intake from a different engine?
Just curious as to what the whole setup is going to look like, an FE was always a good engine but with canted valves? wow.

Intake

Right now they will have to use a sheetmetal intake. Once we put a engine together, I plan on seeing if I can adapt some other intake. The only problem with a cast intake would be flow. These heads and those like them just dont like a single 4. The runners are just pointed in the wrong direction.

Its pretty cool and all, but FE's have always been so expensive to the average hotrodder, that its one of the big reasons why it gets passed over for another less expensive Ford engine (like a 460).

So just how much would these heads cost??....I'd say only the rich and elite could afford them (and a custom intake).

You're still better off sinking that same money into a 385 based engine!! You'll still get much more for your money with the 385 8)

Thats probably true But, FE guy's are as diehard about their engines as we all are about our Fords. I must say, I have alot of FE in me still. My Friend,s 58 w/alum 501" running 8.90 is pretty awsome. I can see that car picking up big time w/those heads and 2 Dommy's  . Keep us updated. Who has stepped up to build the Pistons :?: Rick

Now THAT'S a unique looking FE Head. 8)

Edit:

I got to thinking about this new FE head. It's canted valve, how's that going to affect the lifter alignment in the FE blocks, what about the shaft mounted rockers? I'm trying to picture it in my head but it's now working that well  Im sure you guys have already figured all this out, was just wondering

Thanks

A friend of mine is a member of the FE forum. He said it's posted on there that they're asking $10,000/set
Kinda makes me wonder what else them heads are good for...?

Pretty cool to see that kind of innovation in the old FE's, I applaud the effort. FE's have never been about bang for the buck, that is pretty obvious. I've seen the FE shootout at Mason Dixon, hearing the Booze Bros turning 8500rpm with their stuff was amazing.

Guys who run FE's also like 16ga shotguns, 1911's, four speeds, single barrel bourbon, wool socks, and a good English Setter. There may be newer whiz bang stuff out there, but there's something cool about nostalgia that can't be explained.

Chilly,

I agree i liked watching Charlie and Brian with the big Galaxies running the N.S.C.A series before they went to Hot Street in the N.M.R.A.

Later Mark.

Excellent

Excellent design and execution. I really like the canted intake port with a 7° side cant on the valve.

Based on what Kuntz puts out and Paul Adams 422 FE @ 944 HP with 11° Edelbrocks I'd say this could easily go over 1000 HP.

Real sweet.
