460+.060 over = 472

Can you build a stroker with large valves - 2.24int 1.76ex ported D3's roller rocker valve train and heads were milled .050.
Best and most power for street.

I would hate to throw these heads in the junk pile without ever using them.

Just choose the right OTHER parts.

Of course...maybe it wouldn't be the best option for a higher RPM engine, a stroker with CORRECTLY ported D3's with big valves would seem right at home on a stroker street engine. Anything OVER 557 cubic inches would not be practical with these heads but, up to that limit you'd be fine. Above that engine size and you would be getting down to below the 4500 rpm rev range.

Properly ported large valve D3 castings will support some 650 HP in a stroker application. While not the best choice they are usuable. They would be done at about 6K rpm.

I have done combos like this before with good results. The key is properly ported heads that flow well.

I usually reserve them for lower RPM truck strokers.
