I believe the pictures speak for themselves (not sure how it happened though)... Mah wheelin' truck is no more. Gonna pick up an '86 F-250 this weekend and decide to either use the parts on that truck to fix mine (replace cab) or put the driveline from my truck in the F-250, depending on the condition of that truck.

Sorry to see the Melt down. I've been through a shop fire once and thats no fun either. Could you tell me what size tires are on the pick up. I like the look. Thanks.

Tires are 33x12.5 BFGoodrich AllTerrain T/A. Really went well with the truck, gave it a great look I think and worked awesome off-road too. Rubbed a little on the back of the tires on the arms that support the front axle when turning the wheel all teh way, but still had a tight turning radius for a truck.

Things are lookin' on the up and out though... Local guy is offering me an '85 F-250 for $300. Says it has everything I need to fix my truck. Gonna check that out this weekend.

Glad to hear your truck might be getting fixed. I have an Red/Red 85 F150 4x4 lariet, shortbox, 460. I have been wanting to switch to a bigger tire from the factory size but wasn't sure what would fit and how it would look. Thanks and good luck.

How do you deal with the frame flex when wheelin' your truck? I have a problem with mine that when I go over steep hills where one side of the truck may be a bit higher than the otehr my clutch craps out on me. By that I mean the frame flexes enough that the clutch pivot moves around I have to push the clutch a lot farther to release it.

I adjusted it so with normal driving the clutch is all right at the top of teh pedal, then in extreme flex situations the clutch is all at the bottom of the pedal and drags a little. It's enough that I can shift if I need to, but it's a pain in the arse. I've heard otehrs complaining of bad frame flex issues with the '80-'86 trucks. I was thinknig about boxing in the whole frame and reinforcing it while I have the cab off.

Another thought that crossed my mind is that maybe the F-250 has a beefier frame and I can use that frame and transfer whatever I need from my 150 into the 250, and maybe even keep my stepside bed depending on the frame.

here is a thought before you go to all the trouble of boxing the frame on that truck...that bodystyle truck was available with a hydraulic clutch in later years(85-86 i think) i would hunt up a hydraulic setup, it will solve all your frame flex issues as far as the clutch goes.
hope this helps

Sorry can't help you with that one as I have a C6 auto. I would think however that boxing it woud be highly benificial. Other on the forum probably would be able to offer you better help.

I just have to ask. If your truck burnt on Tues. where in NJ do you find leaves on the trees in February?
haha Apparently where I live. It's been a mild winter, hardly any snow. I'm definitely glad I built my waste oil heater though, really warms the garage for winter projects. Anyhow, I'm about 15 minutes from Philadelphia.

Here is a video of the truck from this weekend. Nothing hardcore, just driving through a puddle. I have some video of doing better stuff in the truck but it's at night so you can't see much. Video is about 25 MB and hosted on my server here at home on the slow internet connection, so have patience.
