598", 14-71, 1050's, 26% over making 14.5 boost. 1182 h.p. and 1112 torque on e-85. put on 32 x 17 slicks and tuning. 2 degrees to much timing combined with what we now realize is not nearly enough air flow. going to a big and ugly.

.This one is just a vid of starting the car in my garage when it's to wet to drive, shows a little more of the car.

Yes, all the plugs were ok but all 8 pistons were burned. the smoke was from a pushed valve cover gasket when the boost blew by the rings. 32 degrees of timing is to much. It only liked 30 on the dyno but it was running rich so......blue thunder heads, 280-292- 772 lift comp cam. harland sharp with jomar girdle. bryant crank, venolia 9.25-1 pistons. Milodan drag pan, isky lifters, (had problems with the comp ones).
be running again by april.

Really? Launching an 1182HP monster on a public road with oncoming traffic? Mini-vans no less?

Not cool.

Those particular folks were watching me for 45 minutes or so on this PRIVATE road. The road is out by our local airlport, about 1/2 mile long with excellant visibility. My runs were limited to launches based on tire pressure, timing etc. going no faster than 65-70 in less than 1/8 mile by the time I would come to a stop. We don't drag race there but we all use it to test, as a sprint car racer owns it and doesn't mind. It's the best I can do to avoid the law and friction from home owners. I didn't have my helmet on though......

What mufflers are you running? Sounds good and not too loud. My big helix 6-71 through Flowmaster outlaws and you can't even hear yours run beside mine.

Enderlie injection all the way. Try it. You will love it.

Well, you should spell that out up front when posting a video like that. Otherwise, you're not only encouraging others to do the same kind of thing on public roads, you're also giving the sport as a whole a black eye.

There are so many things in that scene that could go really wrong, it's not even worth commenting. I hope nothing ever does happen, but even short solo runs with a 1200HP car in a setting like that can get ugly in a hurry.

Nice car though! I'd like see it make a full run at the track.

Just a quick update if anyone really cares. I let my buddy use my timing light over the weekend and it now appears that it is off by 4 degrees, so when I thought my timing was at my dyno happy mark of 30 it was really 34 and when we bumped it up to 33 it was 37 and oops s**t happens.

a few details

The block and heads are the same, SVO, & Blue Thunder. 12:1 compr., Littlefield's LB-20 hi helix, Enderle 1100, custom 2.5" headers, flowmaster race mufflers, custom front cover (to run cam driven pump), RCD accessory drive off crank for the alternator and vacuum pump.10 months to sort out and rebuild...not dynoed but should be in the 1800 range making 24#s at 30% over.
