Hi- has anybody ever used coastal blue hydrolic oil in a power glide?I found out thats what is in my trans., no wonder it wont stall anymore than 3400 on the brake. GOD BLESS B.C.

Hydraulic oil

About 90% of the racers around here run hydraulic oil.Have personally ran it for years and would put nothing else in my pg.Trans runs cooler and since using my stock planataries last two to three times longer and my car has 1.20 60s and weighs 2800#.You will have to explain to me how oil changed your stall it never effected mine.Most aftermarket tranny fluids also contain hydraulic oil.

I use a synthetic religously up until mid season last year and tried the JD-20 hydraulic fluid this tightened up my converter about 200-300rpm's. Had no problems and the car goes .99 - 1.01 60'.

Isn't tranny fluid hydraulic fluid already?????? I mean really, come on....

I guess it's the fact that the different oils have different viscosities? That's what helps the trans run cooler or stall tighter or looser?

If you saw auto trans fluid BEFORE it was dyed red you'd never know it from any other hydraulic fluid.

Hydaulic vs. ATF

I used to work in the air compressor field. When rotary screw compressors first came out they could be run with either ATF or 10wt or 20 wt hydraulic oil. I don't think there is much difference between the base stocks of those oils. Probably the biggest difference is the detergent adders in ATF. Just my $.02.

I know that some of the dc power units are atf only, one the other hand you could never afford filling a 200 gallon resivoir with atf
