This is a freshen up from my 552 last year.

Block sonic checked. Bored .080 over. Plenty of meat in the block. No core shift. DOVE 4 bolt block with custom caps.
SR-71 heads. 1.75 rockers T&D shaft system.
Billet solid roller from Bullet. 276/289 .755/.740 111.5
Racetec custom piston 12.5:1
New 1300 cfm E85 Dominator from Horsepower Innovations. Mafia intake.
Locked MSD dizzy at 28. Will try 30. Kaase made his best power with his 521 dyno mule at 28.
Hoping to see 1000hp.
This is the engine I’ve done for Dragweek this year. Went 9.70’s last year with “issues”. We’re losing weight, picking up at least 250hp and playing with the converter and rear gear. Hoping to see an 8.9x

Thanks Bob. I went back and looked. You are correct. It was 938.9hp. Here’s the specs on his short block:

“Callies 4.3 crank, Lunati 6.8 rods, The cam is Comp 273-280, 109CL .460" lobe, 1.73 Comp rockers.
Pistons are Diamond shelf flat top with 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 rings. No gas ports. .020" deck clearance. It's all pretty tame stuff
Compression is 12.4”

We have more cam, more displacement, more carb and a vacuum pump with the same compression. We should definitely make more than 940. We might not get to 1000 but it should be close.

Correction: Kaase made his best power with the SR-71s at 27 degrees not 28 degrees.

Nice keep us posted how it goes on dyno!

My guess 945hp @6800-6900rpm and 810tq

Cheers, Bob

Did you get it dynoed before drag week?

Good luck if you are doing drag week and be safe.

Bob on the "other" site Jon posted dyno results between the AFR 325's, P51's and his new SR-71 heads all on the same short blocks, one 521, the other 598........so very interesting........
When you say 'the "other" site", can you pass me a link to it or point me in the general direction? I'm really interested in this comparison. Thanks
