Got the pushrods today, all is well. A big thanks for all the quality work and support from you guys during our 604 build!

Should have it in the car this weekend and the headers built in a couple of weeks…then hold on to your self because the earth’s rotation will be changing! :D

Dan,

VERY NICE ! It looks like a work of art and I know it's a labor of love. Keep up the good work and keep posting pictures. If you don't mind show a picture of the CNC exhaust port for the guys. It's quite a bit different than the square port, that comes out of the box.

Also, as a further point of information. The exhaust flange that Jon Thee makes was patterned off of our CNC'ed exhaust port, (Lem sent him the template) and if you use his flanges, they should mate up perfectly without any port matching or grinding required. Are you planning on making stainless steel headers for your turbocharged engine?

Later,

Are those A or C heads?

Also, is that a lift your car is on or just a ramp? I like it, looks like it has enough room to pull the tranny and work on the inside at the same time. Sweet!

Ford 160's

Assuming those are Ford 160's I'm looking at, I'd be happy to share all the information I gathered on these injectors. It wasn't easy to find, and I spent a bunch of bench time developing it...I'd like to save you the trouble.

I have developed an injector offset vs battery voltage function. The 160's are very sensitive to battery voltage.

I have developed a crank fuel pulsewidth vs engine temperature function. Engine starts reliably at any temperature I've seen so far without flooding.

I have a nearly correct low and high slope as well as injector breakpoint. I say nearly because there is still a non-optimal fueling point in the light throttle mid-band area that I need a few more hours to sort out.

I have stoichiometric pulsewidth data for my 435" engine at idle and cruise as well as datalogs you can view/watch if you download a copy of my datalogger software.

My engine cranks, fires, idles, and drives around great, at a 14.7:1 stochiometric mixture at low load.

If you want this info, drop me a PM and include an email address. I'll send it all off.

Byron

Dan,

Thanks for the picture of the exhaust port.

Whenever the car/engine has some downtime, send me that intake manifold and I'll get it professionally polished for you. I have a guy down here that does great work and when he's done, the thing will look like it's chrome plated on the outside. It costs about $400 give or take a little.

I'm running a MS 4 link square tube chassis, my cert falls back to 8.50's this summer so I will update to SFI 25 spec this winter (up here we have a long winter so thats when I do the bulk of my work).

Dan that is an awesome ride!! Isn't it a 63? What bars are you missing to be SFI 25.4? I am guessing probably some of the floor tubes under the drivers seat. That is where the IHRA guy made sure to look on my chassis. My car is a 25.4 chassis also. Yeah you have what 10 months of winter that far north don't you? I am in eastern NC & you can damn near race year round now. I need my winter months to rest & regroup!! I don't know how people down in Florida race all year. If I just had the time & money!! Good luck with your car. I am curious to see how your turbo/EFI setup works . :D

Chris, I need the inside FC cage and a couple of bars rearranged underneath. I also want to move the seats back some as I’m a little cramped. You can’t see it in the pictures but I have a back seat for my son but he is getting to big to fit back there anymore so I’m going to remove it and Mom will have to stay home.

As far as performance last year on pump gas and street tires I ran a best of 8.70 @ 156 with a mild 501 TT, my goal is to run in the 7’s on pump gas and max out at my chassis limit of 7.50 with race fuel. The new engine should provide plenty of power, now I need to focus on the transmission but it wont be this year as I’ve more than blown my budget.

You definitely have a bad *** ride. What heads were you running last year? What does it weigh in at? My 98 Stang with all glass body is 2600 lbs w/driver. I went a best of [email protected] last year. Not bad for A429 CJ heads & no power adder. Hopefully the rain will hold out this weekend at VMP. I made some spring changes that I think are going to really help the cars launch. My best 60' time was 1.17 last year. If you do figure out how to stay with in your budget, please call me & let me know how. When I planned for the 98 stang build, i figured everything then added 20%. I still went over budget!! Oh well, I have the car I have always wanted with no compromises. Now I just need to be able to get all my hemi parts to complete the total package. But that brings me back to my damn budget, which as you said "IS BLOWN"!!! :D

I was running Edelbrock heads unported with a flat tappet cam, the car weighs in at around 3350# with me. Good luck with your Boss setup, that will make your ride truly bad-a$$!! Now you need to put it on the street and go get ice cream with us. :)

Heres a video they posted for me on another forum I'm on, not sure if it will play for you with out signing up but you can give it a try.

Here is a picture of the old set up.

I thought that car was bad *** last year when i watched your video. I hope you reach your goal's safely. I personaly think you can't go wrong with the kentucky boy's support either. It's pretty sad when your ice cream getter is faster than my race car, i think i will go cut the grass now LOL. Good luck. BZ
