Hi Guys ,

been following the site for years. Thought I try and get comments on My combo which I am about to start testing/licensing. The combo will start off as mild as I can make it before stepping it up. Want to sort out the chassis first .
Motor started out as a 2002 FRP 460ci CJ hydraulic cam crate motor (525hp/535lbft ) and now is,

Truck block +30" , square decked.

A429 FRP CJ heads , intakes bowl work and runners cleaned up , exhaust short turn , bowl and runners worked. All chambers de-burred and cc'd at 74.5 cc. Valves 2.2I and 1.76E . Springs , 1.73 roller rockers , valves all crate motor items with freshen.
Crank and rods the Scatt kit with 4.5 cast crank and 6.7" H beam rod.
Cam , original hydraulic flat tappet .588/.614 lift and 244/254 @ 0.50.
Pistons Diamond forged flat top ( -5cc valve relief) at .002 below deck. About 13.3 CR with 74.5cc heads. Run combo on 110 race gas.
Intake FRP/Victor dominator flange , some massaging to get close to port match with heads. MSD Billet dissy and MSD Digital 6+ ignition. Headers are custom 2 1/4' with a 3.5-4" collector , open.
Quick Fuel 1250 Dominator tweeked by Evans , bought from a fellow forum member and dragracer ( Todd521 ) here in West Australia.
Trans is a JPP rollerised C6 with a Dominator 4500 converter.
Rear end is a Strange bolt thru AL centre with 3.89 gears.

Car is full CM 125" chassis , 4 link rear , Strange Shocks and Strange Front Struts. 14x32x15 rear slicks . Body is designed and built myself , fully fendered 27T Roadster , narrowed and centre steer. Comes in at 1850lbs with me in it.
Link to first test session ( unsuccessful - handling issues )

My guess is that the engine , even with the hydraulic cam should be around 580hp and 600ftlb . Hoping for around 8.5 @ 160 in the 1/4.

How realistic is my horsepower estimate and ET?.

Next step is roller cam time , any recomendations. Dont want to spin the combo above 6800 , and also I think I can afford to lose torque in favour of horsepower with such a light combo with three speed?

Thanks Chris,

My major worry is how consistant off the startline such a light three speed combo can be?. With a roller cam , I expect in the order of 750ftlb torque , through a 2.46 first gear

Unlike the US where there is a variety of brackets , here we only have DYO for this car , its call Modified Eliminator .

If I want to run the semi pro classes , I have to go all out (500ci) and rev it up to go 6.8-6.9 in the 1/4 at 3.5 lb/cube. We are talking Pro Stock engine territory.

The roller I had in my 472 made some good power, tad over 700, but was alky injected.

740/727 269/274 @0.050, 110 l/s, installed at 108.
