I have A 502 stroker that has a milodon timing gear set. It was a surprise when I pulled the cover to say the least. i am replacing the cam and I don’t see any markings to indicate positioning like on a normal timing set. There are a couple dots on cam gear but nothing on the crank gear. In my research it seems like a difficult process to set the initial timing with tools I don’t have. Is there a way around it since the cam gear is already set for the cam that’s in it?

HI,
Well as far as the crank the key way should be on top for TDC. and I imagine the cam mark is the Dot at like 10 o'clock on the inner ring with the 2 smaller holes and a center hole.
With the crank key way on top the cam dot well ether be at 12 or 6 o'clock. if its a 12 rotate the crank again and it should be at 6 o'clock.
That's kind of a cool gear drive... I like it..
