With racing season over I have to have something to play with so I am building this deal. It is a 1967 Simplicity Yeoman and the engine is a 1981 Suzuki 750-4 bought off a nieghbor for $50. I have only used metal I already have laying around to mount the engine to this point (gotta use it for something before it rusts away). I will be running it through the tractor trans as well as the motorcycle tranny so I will have 12 forward gears and 6 reverse gears. I plan on finding a set of (I believe they are 18" wide) Ditchwitch tires and rims for the rear of it and running the exhaust under the tractor and out the rear like a normal car.

Cool! My Simplicity 710 uh..740 or something like that, has a 4-1/2 bolt pattern, I think:D. I haven't thought of a way to change directions with the drive system yet. Got any ideas?

Perhaps more info is needed. My engine could be a Harley (not sure I want to use it for this), but more likely a different bike engine. So I need to figure out how to go from chain drive to the drive shaft system on the tractor.

Crap! Sorry for hijacking the thread!

Cool project. Gonna be one high strung tractor...that motor makes about 75hp @ 9000 rpm iirc. Hopefully you can get enough air moving through it to cool it down.

Well when you figure it out let me know. That's the only thing that's keeping me from putting a 500cc ninja motor in the golf cart.

Mount the engine backwards and run a Jackshaft. My moms ex has a 250cc honda 3wheeler engine on his golf mounted like that.
I was mostly referring to the reverse issue. The golf cart is 2 stroke, the motor runs backwards for reverse now.

If I come across a quad drive line real cheap I'll use that, but I already have the ninja motor. As for the donuts, kinda hard to do them inside the trailer.:)
That just means your trailer isn't big enough!:D:D:D LOL Some newer golf carts have reverse in the trans. If you could source one of those just run the motorcycle through the trans.

The four strokes are like that, again if I find one real cheap. Although I don't think the trans would last to long with that kind of power going into it.

Just trying to help figure something out. I have a basket case Yamaha warior 350cc that is just waiting for a cheap golf cart to come along sitting in my basement. I was thinking of taking to the dealership and tell them to make it like new and give me the bill when its done. 6 speed with reverse would be fun in a golf cart.
