Just wanted to say hello and thank you for letting me join. I would like to bounce my build off u fellas and see if you see any red flags or have any advice. I thank you in advance for your help.

Vehicle is a 1960 Galaxie Starliner that will be a slammed on the ground traditional 60's custom. This vehicle will be used for cruising (fast like), and for hauling illegal moonshine.

Engine: 72' Lincoln 460 with ported DOVE Heads (Heavy on Exhaust, Light on Intake), CJ Valves, screw in rocker studs, push rod guide plates, Spring will match cam which is the Comp 4x4 262H. Intake is the blue thunder dual quad (standard not CJ) with dual holley 1848's (465 CFM). The intake will be port matched. I am not sure the year of the block as have not torn down. Stock bottom end with dished HP Hyper pistons and ARP bolts. assembly will be balanced. Early timing chain. Dont know about exhaust yet as engine swap shorty headers (no ground clearance for long tube) and PI manifolds are very expensive. Any one got a set for good price? Trans will be a C-6 w/shift kit,9" rear with 290 gears. Thank you again.

The carbs are too small and the engine can use more cam than that 262. I have a 460 powered 60 'Liner too that is used similar to your use, except for movin' the shine. [1-4bbl, B/T dual plane intake, hyd cam, C6-3.00 gear]
Specs on the cam would help. Otherwise, the rest seems well matched. 900+ cfm is more than enough for a small-ish cam.

Might have some CJ manifolds next month. If you're interested, let me know. Might be willing to trade for some shine. ;)
After you get that bugger runnin', run some of that shine up here....I'll trade 'ya some moose meat or somethin'..........lol

Thank you all for your replies. The moonshine supply is currently dry (LOL) but not to worry as I hear that Junior Johnson has his own line of shine out called Midnight Moon available online. Supposed to be good stuff. As far as the Moose Meat goes, I've never had it but the Galaxie has lots of trunk space if you need to store the steaks (or a government informant) (LOL).
The cam specs are as follows Comp X4262H: Duration 262/270, @.050 218/226, Valve Lift 514/524, 111 Lobe Angle, RPM (1400-5600). Anyone use this one? How's it run/sound?
The Carb Choice was based on the fact that half the people I talked to said 390 CFM Holley's and the other half told me 600's. I was a one man hung jury so I closed one eye and aimed for the middle with the 465's. Was this a stupid decision? My machinist told me the stall converter from mid-80's Diesel to C-6 Combo has a slightly higher stall speed and is a good choice in place of a more expensive performance converter. Anyone used this? Opinion?
