Be sure and read the rules for each one off the three NSS groups he invited. Vintage must then decide if they want to deviate from these rules and make a forth set for this series. Heres why i say this.
Body year, eng, carb use are listed. for each group. Check the 3 lists groups.
NMCA does not allow 460 style eng in NSS .
Victory and NSS inc do allow a 460 upgrade from the FE but only with 2x4 carbs. Victory and NSS inc require 2x4 only for all cars. So no single 4 bl 460 permitted unless a waiver or new rules from Vintage.
No Dominator carbs in any NSS group.
No Pro stock/modern hood scoops in any NSS group, period correct only or flat hood. No cowl induction GM hoods on Fords/Mopars.
Rear chassis mods allowed, Front chassis stock, no rack/pinion steering. biggest tire is the 10.50W, 31 and 33 tall, which is 12'+wide.

Already have the go ahead for single carb. More concerned about car counts than period correct cars. As long as a car has the correct "look" it's most likely welcome to run. Cars in question will be voted on by the racers in attendance.

Thats what concerns me, making up rules as we go along. How many rule changes ? Every race? And who makes the final call? Having a solid set off rules enforced and published ahead of time has never hurt car count. If a guy shows up, who will vote him out and on what premise ? Who tells him to go home? This will just turn into ugly confrontations at the track.
Stick to the rules off these established groups , up to this time they have been successful and fair to the guys that spent the money and built there cars to the rules.
If your not going to follow the three groups rules, then at least someone has to publish a list of exceptions as we go along so theres no surprises Race day.
Not trying to stir the pot, I,m looking forward to this series if properly managed/organized. I,ve been NSS Racing 20 years in just about all the groups, so i have a good background off what works and what fails.

You make several good points. I'm just putting out info as it was given to me. As a nostalgia series it will attract a certain set of racers and cars. Most of which are familiar with the style of this class of racing.

One possibility is to run a NMCA NSS and or NMC class at the Vintage event. NMC was started years ago for cars that did not fit the NSS class. Some local run a NSS/NMCA combo , separate class or combined depending on how many show up. Both are index classes, NMC permits eng changes/upgrades for the same brand, also small blocks
