Getting closer , now I need to get oil on hand. 557", flat tops, 800" Lunati solid roller, worked and flowed SCJ Motorsports heads, steel crank & H beam rods. Figured up @ 14.4 compression. Short block has 4 or 5 passes on it. Looking at AmSoil or Royal Purple. Would like to see what you guys are running. Thanks

Start out with plain petroleum based oil to seat rings and let bearings and such mate up to each other. The synthetic oils won't wear in well.
after the first 30 minutes or so, you can dump the break-in oil and run whatever you like.

Funny I tried synthetic after 1000 miles and mine would puff a little on start up. Went back to conventional and it stopped.
