So... None of this is racing related, but I'm not going to join some other forum to ask a question people here probably have an answer for.

No matter what I do, I can't get the parking brake to hold. I have new shoes in it. Adjusters and the shoes are new and work as they should. I tighten the shoes against the drums to where they are just barely dragging. All three cables new.
I can tighten the adjuster where the three cables meet up to the max and the vehicle will still roll.

What am I doing wrong?

Does it roll forward or backwards?

New drums?

Self adjusters installed correctly and free? When you pull the cable like a guitar string, it should move the star wheel.

Leading/trailing shoe in the correct orientation?

There are several YouTube tutorials on drum brakes or try a ggogle search for a diagram just to check for shoe orientation? (Yes I know what a b1tc# it is to pull the drums off a 1 ton truck) The first brake job I ever did was on the back of a 73 Chevy dually...
