What is the best way to mate a powerglide to a bbf? Adapter plate vs bell housing. Who makes the best kit?Compression is really high and I don’t want to fight starter problems. Thanks in advance for help.
I think adapter plates are too expensive just to run a stock case PG. I personally have a Reid case with BBF bellhousing. They aren't cheap but they are fan-frigging-tastic. AND... If anything lets loose in the converter or trans you get to keep your toes!
I went with the ATI adapter plate kit on my 87 Mustang. That kit allows running a GM powerglide or turbo input converter since the included flexplate has the GM pattern. I'm using a stock case at this point, however I can go to an aftermarket case if desired. Been running it for several years without any issues.
