I just did mine and came up with 8.750. This was with D0VE heads, Ferrea valves (longer stem) and Comp roller tip rockers. First time I have ever done this so I can't offer much more advice.

Pushrod length...?
Going to make a pair of pushrod length checking tools... with D0VE heads on a factory block, what is the worst case shortest/longest I need to think about making them fit... maybe 8.4" - 8.9"?

Mine came out like 8.25"-9" used a stock push rod and a valve cover stud
