I don't think the new unitized hubs can be rebuilt ? I thought they were throw away. I could be wrong ! Hope this helps Mark L.

PS: Where do you run your 79 in the CMRO mud bogs or private type stuff.

PTR,
I am just down the road at Rimbey. Did I buy some D-60 Power Lock differentials from you about 10-11 years ago and you were just building a F-250-350 4x4 in the building that is now the Devon Vet clinic I think.

mark got it on the head. Unitized bearings are not rebuildable. They are a great convience on the assembly line but they are inferior in a few ways:
You can't rebuild/grease very well
and they usually place the inner and outter bearing closer together. This means when widder tires are installed and the wheel center is moved more outboard of the hub centerline the unit will fail quicker than your old king pin based D60 for instance. this is of course because the wheel has more leverage on the narrow bearing unit.

If you want to scrap the unitized hubs, I think Dyna trac makes a conversion to go back to normal wheel bearing and hubs so you can do your own rebuild when you want for a couple hundred bucks. Sometime in the future I am going to buy the kit and have it on the shelf ready to go when one of my unitized hubs go.
