hows it going? I talked to you about 3years ago when you were putting the first big block in there. Steve from Wisconsin. it's good to see that another 72 torino can fly. is it still full wieght? or did you put it on a diet. Is it still green? because that is the color of mine now.

Yes I rember you Steve, That motor from three years ago had a little misshap, Somehow a nut made it down the carb ,through the intake and into #4 . I have a very expesive ashtray now. I had number # sleeved and rebuit the motor,But I changed the intake headers and added a Fuel Cell and Alumnium Radaitor .

The car is nearly stripped , Here are the things that I decided to keep in the car . Carpet No underlay , Door and rear side panels ,Back Seat , Dash Pad I could possibly drop another 100 pounds ,but I dont like the car completelly gutted ,It looks awful and is very noisy. Dont get me wrong I like it very loud.just with out carpet and interior panel the inside resonates something bad.

I have a plastic racing seat for the driver only, Gone is my orginal Bench seat. Took out all the heater and AC controls ,vents ,Heater core ,and blower motor. Gone are the Wipers and motor , I also chucked the inner fenders and some barcing around the front bumper and grill. The Hood is a skinned standard steel hood with a Fiberglass Boss 429 hood scoop .

All said It hasnt been on the scale yet my guess is 3600-3700 lbs plus me . So I think Race weight is still a portly 3800 or so.

Did you cut the door saftey bars out yet they wheigh alot. sounds very simlar to mine except I took out the back seat I bought new carpet to kill some the interior noise it helped some. and with a aluminum headed big block it whieghs around 3400 with out driver with the factory steel still on it. that was a the scales at the track. no exhaust and no NOS bottle.

Love the 72's. I had a fire chiefs car that came with a factory 429. Miss that car a bunch. My only regret was not taking it to the track.
