So I guess all the freaks who use guns for illegal acts are going to go through this process and it's going to stop the bad guys??? All they are trying to do is slowly take away everyone's right to own a gun and they will over time. That way the only people with guns is the government and the criminals.

Hey it works so well there.. make leagal gun ownership as painful as possible.. so the majority of gun "owners" are criminals.... Makes crime easy.

Try living in Canada. The rules here are crazy for owning a firearm. Every gun has to be registered. If it's a handgun it is considered a restricted firearm, which means you are only allowed to use it on a firing range. No exceptions whatsoever. Rifles are a bit less strict. You can use them for hunting. But as for target shooting, I don't think there are any provinces which allow it.
