That should rock and roll pretty well. I expect it to be quite a torque monster.

Spray

Lem,

Made two passes tonight. First pass on foot brake (taking it easy) was a 9.47 at 147 MPH!

Second pass car got loose and Keith got out of it.

I plan on taking the nitrious system off the car completely as I think we should get into the 9 teens with trans brake and a little tweaking on the suspension system. That will be plenty fast enough for this car.

We are VERY grateful to you, Lawes, Phillip, and everyone who put this puppy together!!!!

Your engine must not be broken in yet it's still wearing all of it's diapers. :D :D :D

They sure make you cover it up under there.

Looking good should be fast. :D

More Data

Jon,

The car is 3060 lbs with Keith in the seat (I have given Keith Weight Watches phone number a couple of times).

It has an ATI 9" converter with a JW 164 tooth "lite" flexplate.

We are running 4.11 Pro Gears with a spool using 35 spline axels.

Tires are Goodyear 14 X 32 X 15 on Weld Draglites.

Nitrous is coming off the car. We have never used it and don't see a need now that Lem and the boys in KY built us such a peppy motor.

Car made it's first 1/4 mile pass Wednesday night (3/19/2008). Went 9.47 at 147 MPH on the foot brake. We wanted to go easy the first couple of passes to make sure the motor/trans/converter were all working Oky Doky.

Headed back to the track tonight to see what it will do on the trans brake?

Let you know how we do.

Thanks for the kind words guys. This thing should really start to move here shortly as we did take it EASY!! I left the line like I was going to the grocery store so a couple of brake passes should open our eyes a little bit. Pappa Bear will post up tonights numbers in the a.m. cause I'm headin back to TN. early in the a.m. Again, thanks to all you guys and can't wait till the bash!!!!!!

Test & Tune

Last night was a total waste of time!

Made two passes and the tires spun all the way down the track. On the second pass car got sideways so our night was over.

Hoping for a REAL test & tune with a prepped track.

Test & Tune

Bruno,

It was Speedworld in Bithlo. They have test & tunes on Wednesday and Fridays. Problem is mostly street cars with leaking radiators, oil drippers, etc.

Last night the VERY FIRST STREET CAR broke and oiled the entire length of track--and it didn't get any better after that.

Speedworld also have "private" test & tunes and we have been to a couple. They really prep the track well. Just a few cars with all day to make passes and adjustments to your car--IT IS GREAT and worth the money.

Hope to get to a private session before we come up for the bash--don't want to get our butts kicked too bad!!!

Pretty much why I stay away from test and tune days, they let every pile of junk street treaded oil leaker down the track, and they waste no money on vht.

Bracket race days are much better if you want to time only.

Not like when we had no power, makes getting down the track a bit more interesting now with grunt.

Richter,

Are you comin to the bash as well?? I have a soft spot for those older stangs and really like your car!! And it runs WELL to boot!! I talked with Blake and he told me how fast your car shifts on the timer with the c-4..... HOLY S@@T!!! Not much of First!!

the 1-2 gearchange happens 1.65 seconds after the transbrake release, 2-3 is at 3.95.

The shift by rpm deal dont works so good, the sucker will not catch 1st gear fast enough. By time seems to make the car more consistant, even with wheelspin.

Plan is to attend.

Damon,

I dont see why it shouldn't run in the 5.70 range. Just depends on how fast we can get back to the track and get to work. Pappa Bear is trying to get a track rental nailed down. Pretty sure that those bars will need to be moved. Don't want a wheelie king trophy this year!!
How are your updates coming along??

Keith
