I have a set of the Smith Machine lifters that I'm going to use on a 460. Yes, they are complete overkill, but that's besides the point of this question...

They have 0.015" travel, and I've heard that it's best to set these to "zero" preload - but it can't actually be zero because then the plunger would be riding on the bottom of the snap ring... So what's the right preload amount? 0.002"? 0.005"?

Bumping this up. If anyone knows anything about the short-travel hydraulic lifters please do chime in, thanks
