Who here is a smoker? Do you smoke in your classic car, how about your beater/daily driver?

I don't smoke in my Galaxie. It was my great grandma's car since new and neither of my grandparents ever smoked in it and the interior is pristine except for a rip in the drivers side seat. I would never smoke in a classic car. It makes them stink and makes the interior all grimy. I thoroughly enjoy the smell of ym Galaxie if it has sat for a day or two, especially if it's sat in the garage for a couple days. It smells so wonderful, and brings back memories of when I was a little kid and my grandma would take me out in the Galaxie. I would never taint that smell with cigarattes.

Now my truck on the other hand... Before that burnt down I would smoke in that any time I wanted to. Just a wheelin' vehicle for beatin' on and haulin' parts. Stupid piece of junk frame cracked after a few jumps 6 feet in the air.

I'll smoke in my new truck too, when I get my gas tank and find two driveshafts so I can get it on the road... Or off the road shall I say. The best part about that is that it was a Philadelphia Dept. of Public Works plow truck, so on the dash it has a big NO SMOKING sign. That's good for a chuckle.

I am a smoker and I smoke in all of my vehicles...

...including my spoiler.

I do however pay very close attention so that I do not damage the carpet or upholstery by carelessness or plain stupidity on my part.

If any of my cars were not ever smoked in I might feel differently but alas all of them were...

This reminds me of all the ads you see in the paper when somebody's trying to sell their car. "Lady driven, never smoked in". So that means the oil probably wasn't changed, the fluid levels ever checked, tire pressures ignored...Yeah, that's what I look for in a car - nobody ever smoking in it... :D

Smoking!

If you want to see clearly the results of long term smoking visit the local VA hospitial. I quit in 67 and I am honestly glad every day that I did. Sometimes I still have dreams that I started smoking again after nearly 40 years smoke free. When I wake up I am so relieved that it was only a dream. Next week I will go home and help my brother get his affairs in order. He is dying of lung cancer (59) years old. So just quit already!

Thoughts on my smoking habits...

Personally I'm not a heavy smoker, at least I don't consider myself to be. I don't smoke every day. I smoke mostly on Monday nights, which is bowling night for me, and on the weekends. I smoke about two packs a month, though sometimes if I'm really stressed I'll smoke more and other times cigarettes just don't appeal to me and I may go a week or two without smoking at all. I don't really want to quit, as I enjoy the occasional cigarette, but I do want to keep it in moderation.

I do have a sort of pact with myself. When I get another girlfriend I will quit. As it stands when I go out womanizing or get together with any of my close female friends I don't smoke at all that day, as I don't want to smell or taste of cigarettes. So when I find a keeper I'll most likely quit for good.

Heck, as it stands I've cut back a lot the past couple weeks as I've been more active. I've been excercising to get in shape for Krav Maga (fighting style/technique). My buddy teaches hand to hand combat to the local police and my other buddy and I are going to go to the classes and pair up to learn this stuff. I also enjoy climbing mountains (so far Mt. Washington and Mt. Haleakala) so I gotta have good lungs for that.

So yeah, to better myself I have cut back a lot and will keep it minimal. My goal is for it to be an occasional indulgence.
