Dude! Factory heads probably 8/9:1 compression I would guess. I believe it has flat top pistons so the compression might be a little higher. The cam is around 500 lift. I didn't put this engine together so that's about all I know. It has a Victor Jr. intake and a 950 Holley HP. Going in a 66 Fairlane for mostly street driving, maybe a pass or two at the drag strip. Sorry, I'm new to the engine scene. Thanks.

When you say 'Factory Heads', do you know the casting number? Like DOVE-C or D20E or DOOE?

If it's a DOVE head then some regular old autolite 45's should work fine for you application however if you decide to bump the compression up or run nitrous then you need to look into the AR33's or a similar type racing plug.

If the heads are stock and the compression is low then that BIG intake is going to kill your torque.......... basically it's gonna be a DOG and seem like it has very little power.

D3VE-A2A is the head casting, however, they have been ported. I have plans foe Edlebbock aluminum heads and nitrous. I realize the issues with that intake, but it the engine was a great deal and I couldn't pass it up. I do appreciate your advice.

D3VE heads use the small plugs.
I use Motorcraft AF32C, which I also use in my 351C. Bought 600 of them on eBay Australia last year for 40c each incl postage. No wonder I'm using them!
