I went to replace my starter and it's freakin stuck. I've always had them fall right out once unbolted, especially one as heavy as this. But this one is stuck bad, I've tried PB blaster, prying it, even a bottle jack under it. There was only one bolt holding it on so I'm scared the previous owner jb welded it or something. Any ideas on how to free it, or why it would be so stuck?

Thanks... again.

There should e at least 2 bolts holding it on. Look again... In some case's 3 bolts

Thanks for the reply.

The bottom bolt was in place, the top one was missing. I've checked around it for additional ones but there aren't any, looking at the new starter also shows it has only 2 bolt holes.

The bottle jack I was using under the starter maxed out after reaching the starter and an additional 1/8th inch. I tried slipping a screw driver under it then, but it's damn stuck, and there's really no room to work with under the car. The only thing I can think of is heading to walmart and buying a larger bottle jack....

The top bolt comes in from the backside, through the bell-housing then into the starter.

Guess I should have said that... You should see that the starter is threaded in the top hole as well

It takes all kinds! Sometimes the obvious is over-looked. I saw a dumb-arse try to beat the heads off of a cleveland without removing the valve covers, he said "I got all the bolts out"!
