Yeah and how about the ones you finnaly get ahold of, you ask a question about the item and get the response "Well I'm selling it for my brother and I really don't know, you need to talk to him" or some other lame excuse. Let's also not forget when you are on the selling end and all the spammers reply......you get an email about your item stating they are really interested in your parts but you know it is spam, look the name up on your email and it's Abdul Azizz or some or BS. Craig's list can be a pain in the butt.
"Well I'm selling it for my brother and I really don't know, you need to talk to him"
Which actually means it's stolen and he doesn't know a damn thing about it. He just needs to get rid of it before the cops catch up with him.
what i hate the most is when someone calls everyday for a week and then dosent show up:mad:
but i have got a couple good deals, 10lb. n2o bottle for 50 bucks and a aluminum radiator for 80.http://i846.photobucket.com/albums/ab30/tater028/galaxie/DSC048972.jpg and this is the best thing i ever found on there
craigs list flakes

Its amazing the losers Craigs list brings out of the wood work. I had a guy call me on a part I was selling, and he lived at least an hour away, and he wanted to make sure I wouldn't sell the part before he got there. I told him I would give him 2 hours to show, then I'd sell it to the next person. Sure enough another guy calls and says I'm closer, screw the other guy and sell it to me, I can be there in 10 minutes. I told him how would he like that done to him, I'd be pissed to waste 2 hours of my time driving for nothing. I said I'd take his # and call him if the first guy was a no show. Anyway the first guy did show as promised and I sold him the part and told him about the other guy, he said he appreciated me sticking to my word, he really needed the part. It just amazes me how people just don't care about anybody else these days, the second guy could have cared less that I would have had a really mad guy on my driveway that just spent an hour driving for nothing.

Your a stand up guy Greg, there are getting to be fewer people in the world who have integrity.

yes i too hate it when they dont have a phone number and they wont answer your messages. i have only had one email i thought may have been a scammer. but i was smart enough not to fall for the login info the page wanted he emailed me. soem of the sections i also read is the wanted section. i get depressed somtimes readign that section. because it is full of peole who post give it to me free. sorry but those idiots are in the wrong category for freebies.
i was selling a phone on cl and was getting calls at 1.00AM -3.00AM. they could not speak english. so i dont put my number down they can email me there number
had a clown call me for 2 weeks to look at my car...well i work a swing shift..12 hr shift..he lives 2 hr away..i give him my work schedule for the next 2 weeks and my home and cell number plus he has my email..he shows up 3 different times , he never calls or mails me..he leaves a note on my door all 3 times...on the 4th time i happen to be home, then he starts running my car down , that i only want 200.00 for, i tell him to piss off and leave..what tard
I've been on both sides of the CL deal but as a seller I will not put my phone number in there anymore. Between the tweekers that call at 1 am or later in the morning that cannot complete a full sentence to all the spammers and telemarketers who call to sell you services it is just not worth the hassle .

As mentioned then you have all the guys who promise and then dont show or want to make stupid offers and if you dont take someones offer and they get po'd around here there have been a lot of "fake" ads started using the sellers pic and description along with a real cheap price and their phone number.

As a buyer though it is frustrating not to get a timely reply . I bought a car over the weekend and out of prob 10 inquiries I sent only 2 emailed me back. I looked at the first [a dealer had it] and the car was not as represented but went on to buy the car from the other person who responded back .

When you are dealing with a seller via email, many times their email program marks your email to them as junk mail, and then they wonder why nobody has inquired about their ad.

That being said, I have gotten a free set of wheels and a pair of complete Trick Flow Street heads for $1000 off craigslist. :D
I found and bought my 63 Falcon off craigs list was a pleasant experience
To avoid tire kickers, or cut down on them I leave my phone number and don't put an email. I got so sick of all the stupid emails "Do you still have it for sale?", to which my response is yes you ****tard, or I would remove the ad, call the damn phone number. Now I get these idiots text messaging me, which I do not respond to. Their loss if they are too lazy to make a phone call.

I sell only on Craigslist anymore. Ebay pissed me off with listing fees and screwing both buyers and sellers. Until I find something better, craigslist it is. So quick and easy to post an ad, and so easy to search when using any of the numberous CL search tools (I use www.craiglook.com).

phone calls are the best . e-mail and pm's can be 12year old . the phone call , their more likely a buyer ... even thats not 100% . all places you put ad's , have to deal with some bs
I feel everybody's pain here. I surf craigslist 3 times a day looking for deals, and lately nobody I have been emailing has been contacting me back, after all I thought they wanted to sell something.

Last time I was interested in buying a van the moron says that he doesn't look at email, but then fails to provide a call back number.

Then, there was the idiot who let me drive 30 minutes across town to pick up a window a/c unit, and as soon as I get there he informs me that he can't find it and he thinks his brother took it. Thanks alot for wasting my gasoline, and time retard.
Well a guy had an ad on CL for a Ford F-350 truck...crew cab (4 door) dually, 460, 4SPD....it has a blown head gasket according to the seller. He was only asking $500 for it. sh!t, how hard can it be to fix a head gasket, or even the whole head if needed??

I sent him 3-4 emails, and nothing!!...just pisses me off!!
What I hate about c-list is the spammer email replies to my for sale adds. They arent even interested in the parts I have for sale. Ive had some losers reply to my adds, and want me to donate money to them. Another thing i hate is when people call me for stuff thats not even on my for sale list.
craigslist changed EVERYTHING. It's great, and I've had no better or worse courtesy from craigslist patrons than any other buy/sell forum and Ive bought and sold MUCH more through craigslist than anywhere else. Both good prices from me and good buys for me.

e-bay SUCKS bad!!!!!!! I always feel I'm getting skinned when I try to buy something on there, and have NEVER sold anything, so those items became worth less to me. More irritation is the B******* search engine on e-bay. I'm looking for canoes right now, and though knowing full well I wouldn't get satisfaction form using e-bay, I tried it anyway, and sure enough, I typed in "canoe" and got almost everything BUT canoes! I wasn't asking for a Garfield commerative glass, I wanted to see canoes. I didn't see a canoe on the first page!

GArfield was in a canoe though.

Type in "canoe" on craigslist and you get, CANOES! Lots of em!

For some reason I don't get the scammers anymore. Maybe from ignoring them for so long.
