what is the biggest tire that will fit on a 1/2 ton 1997 4x4 ? i got a killer deal on a set of 35-12.50 tires, what off set is best on this truck, will they fit with out a lift, if not i can put a 3 inch body lift

lift or trimming.
i have a 88 f 150 with 35 in boggers without a lift they fit but they definitely take up most the wheel well

i had a 89 a few years ago and my 97 sits way higher, if i use them at all, i will have to buy some rims too, just not sure what back spacing to get, and what size if rim..im thinking 15x10
Your 97 must set higher than my 96 does i could get 32's on but 33's would require cutting

These are 31's on a 15x8.5 wheel's

tires will most likely hit the bumper, especially if you have after market (wider) wheels. All newer half ton trucks have this issue. I've never seen a 97-03 F150 on 35's without lift. FWIW

???? 35's rubbed on my 91 F250 when i was doing any amount of wheeling. you must have driven the truck like a grandma for them to clear
i can get just a 3 inch body lift for under 200.00, so thats not bad, and i have to get some old rims, just for winter use only
ouch like a grandma? ive been in bogs and had the truck off the ground i may not have the fastest truck but im thinkin might be a lil much for grandma and if you look in jeffs videos its the maroon ford it honestly has 35 boggers with no lift in those videos it doesnt have much for a bumper but i ran a full bumper for a couple of years and it never rubbed
mine may have rubbed my running boards  forget now, its a long time ago.
that could be never had running boards but the picture posted definitely would not fit that big of tire

I had 35's on my 77 with no trimming and it was defintally not drove easy... Now the fenders are cut for the 38's so i dont gotta worry bout a cut tire
different body styles clear different size tires.
from the look of the pic of the 97 the bumper looks like it'll be pretty close to the tire.
now i have a 99 f 150 with 285/75 whatever that converts 2 but they are close to bumper and fender and i have the torsion bars raised inch or a little more to level the truck
