Hi, newbie from the UK, I have a 69 mustang with a 1971 Lincoln 460ci in and a manual tremec 5 speed TKO.
I am looking to swap The TKO to a C6 automatic transmission package as the clutch is too Heavy in traffic and here in the UK the traffic is to much to keep changing gears. So my question is, what toothed flexplate do I need?

I see some flexplates are 164 tooth and some are 184 tooth, what one do I need or how do I tell what I will need.

I will be ordering a performance auto C6 transmission from Summit Racing but again dont know what flexplate I will need

any help much appreciated.

It’s getting more difficult, how do I find out what balance my engine is? And are you saying it’s a 164 tooth flexplate I need?

what year is the eng supposed to be?
does it have a counterweight behind the dampener?
does it have one on the backside (eng side) of flexplate?

thanks It’s a 1971 engine for sure, and the manual trans flywheel\flexplate has NO counter weight on it at the moment.

Believe “68” to “73” is 164 I have a “69” an it’s 164. Believe in “74” they went to a 184 tooth flex
