Valve clearance question

Stock 460, D1 block uncut, TRW dish pistons, if I put a set of C8's that have been milled .030 and had 2.245 intakes, 1.725 exhaust valves installed, will I have a valve to piston clearance problem from the bigger valves? Just trying to up the compression a little. They are ported heads so how much difference will they make in power? 750 Holley, performer intake. Thanks!

i tried that combo and it is awefully close put some modeling clay on the pistons put your head gaskets and heads on and turn the motor all the way over take it back apart and measure how thick the clay is and make sure you have plenty of radial clearance.

Clearance depends on a lot of things. For example, what do you have for a cam? There are just so many variables to consider. That being said, we have done a hell of a lot of D0VE head swaps where we removed D3VEs and installed D0VEs, and with most flat tappet cams that were in the engines we did not experience P-to-V issues. Yuur results may vary.

Thanks Paul, it's a blue racer A cam. I misplaced the card so I don't remember the lift. I was concerned about the 2.245 intakes mainly! Like I said I am just trying to up the compression a bit for the last couple races of the season and didn't want to pull the motor. Using Fel-Pro blue gaskets.
