Mild build with Elgin E1055P cam with .512 lift Intake and .538 lift exhaust on D3 heads. Flat top hypereutectic pistons @ .030 over with valve relief. I plan to use Edelbrock 5767 springs with coil bind height of 1.13" with stock retainers.

This combo looks like it will work with no coil bind, but the valve seals interfere with the retainers at full lift. Two kinds of seals, polymer and silicone. The silicone provides more clearance but not quite enough.

Should I shorten the guides .050" or so or is there a better solution?

Thanks,

Harry

Top guides .050" to .100" and reduce diameter. Use a .500" or .530" blue viton positive control seal in either metal clad or non metal with the spring bands.
