Depends upon your required installed height or whether your heads accept a single or a double spring.

CJ valves in a D3 head aren't a good match.

its normal for some cams to have more then one spring spec that you can use, it also depends on installed height, for spring presser, whats the spring part num on your card?

no the cards dont inclued the specs, that comes with the springs
re valve spring question

sorry valves are 2.19 1.72 my book says installed height 1 51/64 - 1 53/64 still confused on which spring to use sorry but im new to this but im learning

thank you

Generally, if you have D3VE standard-length valves, then the 926 springs will work with their intended 1.82" installed height and open/seat pressures, as the 926 single spring/damper package.

If you have D0VE standard-length valves (~0.100" long in a D3VE head), then the 924 springs will work with their intended 1.900" installed height and open/seat pressures BUT you need to further modify the D3VE heads in order for them to properly accept the 924-16 which is a dual spring w/damper.

Get with a machinist that fully understands what I am explaining...

I'm interrested to know what book you have which will automaticly know which length valves you have, exactly how deep the seats were machined when larger valves were installed and what retainers you are using.
Your installed heights need to be MEASURED not merely guessed at, simply because a book says THEIR combination used a given spring height.
thank you paul yes they are standard length d3ve valves called my machinist told him what you said he explained to me how to shim the springs to 1.82" installed height the book i am using to reassemble the motor is clymers omc king cobra shop manual thats where i got the spring height i just did not understand till my machinist explained i will have to measure each valve for proper shimming since i put in larger valves and the seats were machined boy i cant wait till i get this boat done i'm the only ford on the water here:cool:

thank you guys for all your help:D
