Hey all!
These guys are ANRA. I was T&T with them two weeks ago.. They got some real nice cars.

Anyways in one of my last posts I said that my car shot over to the centerline. Then a Nova went all the way into the left lane in front of another car (using the same lane I was in).

So I wonder if the oils in the track arn't coming to the surface in spots.. This weekend was the first time it was over 100 degrees?

Well watch the video and check out the wreck.. Man I'm glad the guy is OK..

door car driver (crash) got out of the grove to the left, put in too much steering correction to bring it back, car got sideways, not enough steering left to bring it back around. Crossed track, impacted wall.. He appeared no worse for wear sitting on the ambulance bumper and surveying dead car near end of video.

It happens. To lots of us, some of us quit driving at the traps. Gotta keep driving till its stopped.

I think I have aborted 6 passes in my life, and 4 of them were at the 1/8 mile track south of us early this spring. It had a reral narrow groove, and even then what was there did not hold a car with decent power real good. If it started getting goofy you had to giver it up and just try to get control back.

My home track I have made thousands of runs down and only had 2 passes that I had to abort, both were after a breif shower and they dried the track off.

The 1/8 mile track recently had the surface ground after realizing people were not showing up to race because of the above issues, since then I hear its a lot better.

nothing really but me rambling, important thing is knowing your car and when its getting over the point of no return.

Good advice Carl........

Most of us get so focused on winning a trophie...... or a couple hundred bucks.. A junk car is going to cost ya a whole lot more. Sometimes everything, even sportsman drivers get killed.. they just don't get national attention.

Racing is a risk, and we often drive where others wouldn't... but don't ever drive where you don't want to....

Les,

This is an opportunity I was looking for to remind you to replace those old tires on your car that you were telling us about Saturday night. No one here wants to hear about you being dead or see a video of you in the wall or crashing into a bunch of spectators.

Replace those old hard tires and be safe, even if it means you miss a couple weeks at the track.
