Got a 08 escape for the wife back in sept. and I guess i need to stock up on my detailing supplies as it is black on black. Having trouble keeping it from spotting up after i wash it , so my question.

Is the shammy(spl) still the hot ticket for drying it or ,as i saw at the A/P store, terri clothe like towels used for drying?

Just wanted opinions before spending the bucks for some good supplies.

Thanks.........ron

i always use a shammy to dry my truck. it is dark blue and it water spots too. if your washing in the sunlight try not to let it air dry before you dry it with the shammy.

I have 2 black cars and what I do is use a squeegee right after the final rinse. Then use a good shame e. Try to dry it out of the sun too. I wash mine in the drive way and dry it in the garage.

I like to use the chamois then a miicrofibre cloth (probably the same as your terry cloth) to clean the spots off

Back in the mid 80's I worked at a full service car wash we put a water softener in the soap it helped out to keep the car from spotting real bad.Not sure where to get it at now but you may can find it home depot or lowes in know they sale water softeners.
