The 460 came in 4x4 trucks from about 1981 tru 1997. I would recomend an f350 from 92-97, a little stiffer ride than the f250 due to the monobeam dana 60 up front but if your looking to modify latter for mudding or pulling it will be your best bet. If your buying a truck from the northern salt states look carefully for rust ie core supports and rear spring shackles and brackets.

I live in Colorado I,m looking for a good all around truck,winter driving and pull a 20' race car trailer with a 10.5' camper but I do want a 460 in it. the 460 is a great little engine and I like the older ford truck the 88-92
i have an 2x4 1989 350 with the 460 and it pulls great even with 153,000 miles on it. uses a little oil but hey its got a lot of hard miles on it. only complaint is trying to park it at walmart, the sports cars cant stay in there own damn place.
