Hey, just trying to figure out what the hell would cause this with the bearings? The center groove looks like it melted, but the bearing isn't burned. Just looks like lots of **** in the oil. Anyone have any ideas??
The other pics are the rocker arms. I know some of you say not to grind the rockers, but I'm a little nervous to go more. I'm running 1.645 dia. triple springs, with 1.73 ratio and .796 lift, can I go alittle further without messin' **** up?? Any help will really help!! Thanks,
Mike

not really junk, but not designed for the 1.645 spring diameter. I run the crower SS rockers and have no clearance issues with the larger spring. The Comp SS rockers are also a good alternitive.

As for your bearings, do they all look like that or just the 1? It may just be the little metal shavings from your rocker arms working down and through the block. Either way, I'd replace them and check your clearances again.

I am betting that is not a bbf rocker arm. Just looks to short from the trunnion to the roller tip to me..

That bearing looks like it had no clearance or the crank is bent. You are getting metal to metal contact on the top half of the bearing. Something is wrong.

I agree with bosshoss, get the crank checked and straightened (someone who's handy with V blocks and a big hammer). The scorpions are good quality, but I think of them more as a street/strip type rocker arm... not really top end triple spring race stuff. Is it only the thrust bearing that looks like that? Was there any debris or raised burr on the back side of the bearing? Quite a while ago, I ordered some 1.73 351C (same as 460) scorpion rockers from Ebay and got 1.72 ratio windsor rockers instead

Sorry, been tooooo busy working. The mains were almost all like that.....but on the cap side. Metal to meatal, squished the oil out of them.......lack of oil apparently. Will find out if crank is bent on Mon. I guess I'll just clearance the rockers for now, and get new ones for next season. Thanks for all the responses guys!! Thanks,
Mike

The bearings I've seen with lack of oil were more a wiped sort of look than that. I just tore down my old chebby 350 today that my friend owned for a short time. When I bought the car back from him it needed just over 4 qts of oil. Oil change with new filter is 5 qts. So yeah, basically no oil. And the bearings looked quite a bit like yours but more wiped. Maybe your lack of oil wasn't as bad as the few I've seen.
