I'm at about 2700 and 55 mph with a C6. I've driven those distances many times.
My ears don't like those trips though.

Sure! Do it almost every weekend from spring thru fall (when it does not rain) with a 3500 stall and 4.56 gears. 8)

Whats the problem with running a C6 on the hiway? There are littoraly millions of C6s running up and down the hiways and byways. Probablly the strongest automatic transmission used in passenger cars and light trucks.

calculators

if you know the diameter of your tires and the trans final ratio (1:1) in a c6 and your rear end ratio. You can run it through one of the many calculators available on the net. 28 inch tire with 3.55 gear is about 3000 rpm at 70 mph. Google "automotive calculators" or "rpm calculator" and you can find tons of them.

Here are my vital signs while cruising.

472 cubes, 3.89 gears, C6 trans, 26 inch tall tire (P255/50/R16 Drag Radials), cruising on the Garden State Parkway 8)

I have a 180 t-stat in there, so she runs nice and cool with the new radiator and fan setup.

I run my Fairlane all year round, and have gone as far as the Jersey Shore to Buffalo, NY visiting friends. I usually work an extra day of OT to cover the gas money. :D
