I have a '69 F250 that somebody stuffed a 460 in. I suppose it could be a 429, but po said it was 460. How do I tell what year and maybe what it came out of. So far a starter from a '70 Lincoln was the right fit (there is an old time Ford guy at my parts store). Also anybody know if the stock y pipe from a dentside with a 460 will fit in the bumpside? Thanks, Mike

Hi ford Used the same block for many years.. I had a 77 F250 and the block was a 70 and the heads were 72. You should be able to find at least a motor year.. Look for a 4 letter/number set If the motor is a 70's area it well have a number like D2VE the D = 70's and the 2 is the spesific year so it would be a 72. If it is a 60 area motor it would start with a C9VE C = 60's and the 9 = specific year so it would be a 69. E = 80's.
good luck
