I have some scratches in Alum wheels looks like from mounting can I polish these out with 1500 grit paper and then use some Mothers to bring the lustre back??

Once you sand it, you really need to bring it back in stages to get rid of the sanding marks. Otherwise your just making the sanding marks shiny.

You can try the Mother's polish, but I'm not sure you'll be happy with the results.

If you go to a truck stop like a T/A Travel Center you can get the aluminum polishing bonnets and bars of compound.

You can use the polish on stainless stuff too. I used it to polish the voltage regulator, ignition module, an old drive-in speaker etc. Kind of a dirty job, but worth the effort.
