Where to start?/ Should I…?

I’m a young kid with a little experience in shops doing remove and repair work (mostly transmissions). I have a 1992 F150 Flareside 2WD with the 5.0 engine. I’m the sixth owner and it’s sentimental to me so I plan to build it up. The trucks got issues so I was looking to buy a parts car with a similar 5.0, however, just discover the 460 and so far I’m hooked. Wondering if going with this swap would be something I can do or if I’m in over my head. I don’t really even know where to start aside from acquiring the parts car, taking the motor out and building it on a stand. Last thing, I wanted perhaps a 2000ish f250 as a parts so I can possibly swap to obd2 easier, thoughts?
