when installing a distributor 'do you bring the damper to' 0 deg tdc on the compression stroke. And then put the dist. in with the rotor at number one plug terminal, start the motor and turn the distributor to what you want your initial timing to be OR do you bring the damper to the timing you want on the damper btdc, say 16 degrees, and then put the dist. in with the rotor pointing toward number 1 plug? I've done it both ways and it does not seem to make a difference.
Thanks, Roger :?: :?: :?:

Doesnt make much differnce, except if you put it at the proper degree advance, 16, 20 , 40... when you stab it, its more likly to start, and of course less off than if you did zero, and then had to sit and spin it around till ya got where ya wanted to go.

Like Kim said, it doesn't make alot of diff. I always put the timing marks close to 10/15 and adjust total after that. Rick
