Will a 90 degree adapter not work for you? Like you said lots of those in wrecking yards I've seen 80's-90's 460 trucks with towing packages that used an oil cooler that used them with hoses to the cooler and 460 and 351 powered trucks and vans that used a 90 adapter some of them were oil cooler adapters that either didn't have the passages drilled or were plugged off.You can rotate them to point in almost any direction you want.

 

Good afternoon, I have a 1937 ford rat rod truck with a 460 in it. It currently has an oil filter relocation kit on it because a long oil filter does not fit between the block and the frame. I believe a 45-degree housing would work. I have found several, but they are either no longer available or quite expensive. I can find 90-degree housings all day long. These are some that I have found. E7TE-6884-KA, D8UE-6884-AA, C8AE-6884-AA, C5TE-6884-BA. Does anyone have any insight on this issue? Does anyone have one of these adaptors for sale? I have also seen posts that mention using a short WIX oil filter, 51335 or 51331. I just bought this truck and I have not got any numbers off of the block to verify exactly what it is. I was just told by the previous owner it was a 460.
